Volunteer Brett Rushworth moves to new clinic1/29/2013
Three weeks ago I moved to another clinic site in a rural farming village about 2 hours from Kathmandu. I am the first acupuncture doctor to work at the clinic and before my arrival no one in the community knew of acupuncture and its benefits. Now in three weeks I have over 250 new patients!

The Latest Word

We are excited to announce the start of our First Annual Spring Campaign!

For this first campaign we aim to celebrate the recent growth of MMW by pledging the funds to support our newest clinic in Bhotechaur.
(See below!)

To address this challenge it is our goal, by the end of April, to raise $5,000 to ensure that the clinic at Bhotechaur will be fully stocked with acupuncture needles through the end of 2013. With your help, the successful completion of our Spring Campaign will allow our practitioners to focus on their many patients rather than on procuring supplies and will ensure that any person who seeks treatment receives the absolute best care.

Mindful Medicine Worldwide Begins Staffing New Clinic

As of December 2012 MMW has begun staffing a new clinic in an underserved part of the Kathmandu Valley.  The health clinic at Bhotechaur  serves patients from the surrounding area in the northern part of the valley.  The staff there has been very receptive to our participation and the response from the local community has been literally overwhelming.  Take a look at our volunteer Brett Rushworth´s blog post for more info.

Please take a moment to view the website of our newest volunteer clinicians, Dusty & Brooke! They are headed to Nepal on October 17th. Follow their experience, or help by making a donation, by clicking here.

By Bob Flaws

I know I said I wasn't going to post anymore blogs, but I want to share some of Honora's and my experiences working with Mindful Medicine Worldwide in Nepal last month. Mindful Medicine is an NGO founded and run by Chicago acupuncturist Grainne Mckeown. The ability to combine volunteer service with pilgrimage to some of the Tibetan Buddhism's holiest sites was simply too good to pass up...
